Música Aperta is an interactive álbum that explores dialogue with the listener through the idea of “open music”— music that is unfinished and open to modification. It features an audiovisual-reactive interface that generates images responding to the audio’s behavior. The sound piece is hosted on a webpage, where the frequencies of the electroacoustic composition are interpreted into a real-time cinematic landscape. Inspired by Erik Satie's concept of “Furniture Music,” this work seeks to transform indoor spaces into refuges of calm and contemplation.
Combining sounds and musical textures generated with instruments and electronics, the different layers of sound can be adjusted through a virtual mixer, allowing users to create new sonic combinations and compositions, shaping their own soundscapes. With audio manipulation tools such as delay and reverb, users can interact with the musical sound palette. The project was developed over four months of confinement at Château Éphémère, an art residency on the outskirts of Paris, in complete solitude.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who accompanied and collaborated with me in this creative process, especially Ivan Caplan, Sebastian Seifert, Enol Balado, Inertia Sonicarts, and Riina Tolonen.
Thank you also to Asylum Arts, Château Éphémère, and Umor Rex for making this album possible.
